I think this assignment is a really good idea, this way we have something we can use once we have completed our degree. I want my portfolio to help me with my career in the future, all i'm interested in is art so the people I would show it too, need to see a gallery.
I actually created a portfolio in my last flash class with Luis but I wasn't happy with the end product. The actionscripting got in the way of what I wanted it to look like! So i'm hoping this will be easier for me to understand and I can create something I want to use.
